Does your apparel provide SPF protection?Updated a year ago
UPF stands for ultraviolet protection factor and represents the ratio of sunburn-causing UV without and with the protection of the fabric, similar to SPF (sun protection factor) ratings for sunscreen.
Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) indicates how much UV radiation (both UVB and UVA) a fabric allows to reach your skin. For example, a UPF 50 fabric blocks 98 percent of the sun’s rays and allows two percent (1/50th) to penetrate, thus reducing your exposure to sun significantly.
All our apparel provides coverage, which may help protect against the suns harmful rays. Some of our range (Lava and Aeroforce) have a thin mesh panel on the back which will not provide the same level of coverage as the rest of the suit.
We strongly recommend that sunscreen is worn underneath your tri apparel if wearing for extended periods outdoors.
